For those looking to capture the iconic start-of-the-ride moment, our canal will be filled with Missouri River water symbolizing Iowa’s western border. Riders can access the canal in the Windmill Park to dip their rear tire, take a photo, and commemorate the official start of this exciting, annual ride.

Get ready to kick off your RAGBRAI LII adventure with an unforgettable Tire Dip Experience! As tradition holds, riders will start their journey by dipping their back tire in the river along the Western Iowa border in Hawarden, Iowa, marking the beginning of an epic ride across the state.

Starting Point: Oak Grove Park, Hawarden, Iowa
Destination: Downtown Orange City, Iowa
Date: Saturday, July 19
Shuttle Departure Times: 10:00 AM, Noon, and 2:00 PM
Price: $25/rider (non-refundable)
Shuttle Service Information:
Convenient shuttles will be available to transport riders and bicycles from Orange City to Hawarden for the Tire Dip event. Shuttles will depart from the Diamond Vogel parking lot at the corner of Albany Pl SE and 11th St. SE during the designated times listed above.
Seats are limited, so be sure to register early to secure your spot!
